No Dog!
For those of you who didn't know, we were considering getting a dog last month. There was a family at church who needed to get rid of their 2 year old Springer Spaniel. He was already housetrained, so we thought this would be a great opportunity for us. Don picked him up last Thursday and he went home Friday after biting Graham. The good news is that Graham wasn't too badly hurt and doesn't seem to have regained his fear of dogs. I think he is still open to getting a dog sometime in the future. Also, now we don't have to wonder if we made the right decision. Biting our child is a pretty definite decision-maker, I'm thinking.
Anyway, since we now have lots more time to do research, I welcome any recommendations on what dogs to get or not to get in the future.
Sorry it didn't work out, Todd. I thought it would have been cool to have a dog named Snuffy. Maybe we'll name the future one Snuffy for you. :-)

You just can't go wrong with a Golden Retriever. As docile as can be (except the one that we now have - he's 6 months old and a bit snippy - but still not inclined to really "bite" anyone!) Hogan used to let babies crawl all over him, pulling his fur and biting him, and would never even so much as growl!
